I love playing along with Beate’s Inspiration Challenges. This week the inspiration piece is this beautiful bed linen.

Here is the card I made for it.

The coverlet inspired me to use an embossing plate from Spellbinders that I bought several months ago and still had not used. I colored in the leaves on the main image using a blender pen and reinkers. See those tiny little Raindots on the flower centers? Aren’t they cute! The sentiment is from Flourishes “Many Sentiments” set.

And I also wanted to share this wonderful Mother’s Day card that my DS and DDIL, Kimberly, made and sent to me.

I just love the way she stamped the sentiment in the corner where the designer paper has been torn away. And isn’t the sparkle on the bodice such a sweet and perfect little detail. I love this card!

The card from my wife or your ddil was inspired by a card from splitcoast stampers. I am not sure of the link, but I thought it best we not steal all the glory. 🙂

  25. Awesome card, Susan. Love the embossing. Have a question — Can you use the embossing plate in the Cuttlebug or do you need the Wizard? I ask because I absolutely love the way it looks! This is such an elegant card and really is an amazing take on the inspiration piece.
I love the true thyme with the basic gray — it’s such a fresh, clean look against the white. Beautifully done. TFS! Also, wanted to let you know that the design of the mother’s day card is fabulous!

I love your Mother’s Day card you received! Super sweet!!

  35. So when you see Kimberley or when she comes up here do the two of you sit and stamp?!? I would LOVE that! Lyndsey is not one bit interested in anything I’m interested in…so I have no one to “play” with…my only hope is that Michael can reel in someone who will like to play…but that’s not looking promising either! I love the card she made, too. My sister made me some wedding cards to give away…isn’t that great? and I gave one to Kirstin Cornett for her shower and she opened the envelope and studied the card and commented on how cute it was and I was just thrilled – couldn’t wait to tell my sister that her card was appreciated! For Labor Day I’m going to be laboring around the manse – it’s a sty and I can’t take it any longer! Have a great day and the next time you make a “supply” run take me with you! Nan

  36. The Inspiration Challenge card #13 you created is so beautiful. There is something about the layout and the colour choices that, if I saw it on SCS I’d put it into my favs.
