Beate’s Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #25

Beate’s Inspiration Challenge today was the perfect chance to use my new SU! set called “Eastern Influences”.  Here is the inspiration photo.

And here is the card I made that was inspired by it.

blog109withwm.jpg

The image was made by coloring directly onto the rubber with markers and then spritzing with water before stamping.  After stamping the flowers were colored in with a Pretty in Pink marker.

I wish that SU! made brown brads.  With each new catalog I search to see if they have finally decided to carry them.   But they still don’t, so I make my own.

Using the antique brass brads and a pair of tweezers, I push them into my Chocolate Chip Craft stampin’ spot.  Then I quickly and lightly spray them with Clear Finish.  I push them into the stampin’ spot again then use my heat gun to dry them.  I love the matte finish it creates.  But I’m still hoping that the next new catty will be the one!

See what the other challenge team members have created today using this beautiful photo as their inspiration.

Hope you get a chance to play, too.

This card is so peaceful in nature and the colors are wonderful! Thanks for the great tip on coloring brads. I’ve colored mine with embossing powder before, but never thought to do them this way!

Fantastic card, Susan. It’s beautiful indeed!
Thanks for your tip on how to make your own chocolate brad. I got tired of embossing mine. It seemed the embossing peeled off to easy. Love the alternative you offer. Although I have to say I am to lazy and buy contraband. I hope SU will get with it and offer Chocolate Chip brads soon.
    Hugs and smiles

This is a gorgeous card! ITA about the brown brads. I had a few strays from a DCWV kit lying around and I used them up and wished right away for more! I’m impressed that you make your own. Will have to try that!

What a beautiful card, but of course, it’s a Susan card.
Believe it or not I did find brown brads in a packet at Michael’s that had some really dark colors in it. But I have made my own also. I press the brad onto a versa water mark pad then sprinkle it with the embossing powder and heat it up and it’s made. Have a great week. Pat

I needed a break from blog land so I came to your blog - and it was so great to see all of your creative juices are still flowing! I came back from a visit to Mecca with a giant box filled with handmade cards from my sister…I needed a birthday card yesterday and after looking through all of those cards she’d given me, I decided that I’d rather buy one than give one away…is that sick or what?!?
