It’s summertime in Seattle. cliphappydaytinyani.gif We have had record high temperatures into the 100’s!  Lake Sammamish is 82 degrees.  Whew, we Pacific Northwesterners aren’t use to this heat!  My DH and I have been riding our bikes every day.  There are miles and miles and miles of bike trails in and around Seattle.  Today we did a *little* 26+ mile trip (the farthest I ever ridden a bike at one time) and then finished it off with a dip in the lake and a bbq.  Life is good!

Consequently I haven’t been playing much in my stamp room.  It is upstairs over the garage, and our air conditioner was broken.  (It’s so rare that we need a/c..  so who knew?) The one thing I did do was the August calendars for my sisters.  Here are all 3 summer months of June, July and August with recipes below.

  1. Your calendars are so special and your sisters are so fortunate to receive one each month:) I’m partial to July’s – simply because purple is my favorite color 🙂 I love everything about each calendar, especially the lace and crocheted flower!
I’m glad you’re enjoying your summer and trying to stay cool! Happy trails!

  2. A 26-mile bike ride?!…wowie, girl, I’m IMPRESSED! I’m impressed with these awesome calendars too! Your attention to detail is AWESOME. Love the lace with the purple, plaid with the rose, and that pretty crocheted flower. Your sisters will LOVE these!

  3. Susan – I adore your three calendars. I love them so much that I immediately clicked over to A Muse and was heartbroken to find they only have the 2008-2009 calendars available for download. Huge bummer cuz I was ready to make calendars for my mother and sisters. I couldn’t find a Contact Us button on the A Muse site to inquire with them either… I’ll just have to bookmark your post and be satisfied with gazing at it. Your calendars are sheer perfection!

    I can’t believe you tood a 26-mile ride in the scorching heat. But I’ll bet the cold lake water was blissful. {Hugs}

  4. Good for you on that bike ride and enjoying your summer!! These calendars are all gorgeous. Love all the details they each have. Stay cool!

  5. What stunning calendars!!!!! They are lovely! And I’m jealous of all the warm weather you are having, our summer in Pittsburgh is wet and chilly – we’ve hardly seen a day out of the 70s!!!

  6. what great calenders…love how you add the dimension to these.
Yes, we are cooking down here in Oregon too! One day it was 117 degrees..it hurt to even walk outside!

  7. Susan, these are so pretty and summery. Love the touches of crochet — lace and flowers — that you added. Truly beautiful creations! Bet your sisters loved them!

  8. What a gorgeous and beautiful gift. I LOVE all the beautiful details in each flower . . . and these flowers are little so I know that you had to work even harder to get them to looks so spectacular! TFS!

  9. Beautiful calenders Susan. You are sure energetic with a 26mile bike ride. Whoa! Sorry about the Calif heat, however, I’m sure enjoying your temperatures though. 🙂

  10. Oh my goodness. 26 miles. I would have bikers behind all week. EEKS. We have some great trails here in NC too. I hope it cools down there. I love this idea. I think I will do this for my sister starting in December and then one for each month next year. Such a sweet way to stamp. Great job.

  11. Your calendars are stunning! Love all delicate work on the images! Embellishments are so beautiful!
Glad that you enjoy your summer!

  12. Your sisters must absolutely love receiving these gorgeous calendar pages. I can imagine how they look forward to each one! We are certainly not having a heat wave here on the coast. The heat inland pulls the fog in over top of us and we’ve not even had much sun. This is the dreariest summer I can remember!

  13. Hee hee, I was going to say July was my fav and then I saw August…! They are all beautiful!
I was just in the Phoenix area and it was 115….I haven’t been that whiney over things out of our control (TEMPS!) in years. I don’t think I do well in super high temps…maybe I’ll move to Seattle… LOL!!!

  14. These are fabulous Susan. Your sisters are going to love them!
Ooohh… 100 there that is hot for you guys… But remember when you came from… 108 here sat girlie…. EEK…. good thing we have been out of town most of the week, it was HOT here… :0)

  15. I love following your calendars for your sisters. They are really so special! Love the 3D parts of the flowers and the colours of August – just fits August so much. keep enjoying your summer, sounds like a lot of fun!

  16. Love your calendars and especially love the flowers that were either knit or crocheted. I am taking a class in how to do those little cuties. Fun. Happy weekend. Pat

  17. Oh my goodness, these are beautiful! What wonderful gifts!

I hope things are cooling off for you! 🙂

  18. I feel your pain with the 100+ degree weather…we live in the air conditioning about 10 months of the year!!! I can’t imagine riding a bike 26 miles in that heat!!!! Your calendars are fabulous, Susan…I know your sisters will treasure them always!!!

  19. Your ‘Sister Calendars’ are sooo pretty, Susan…and I can hardly believe how detailed your tiny flowers are!! Incredibly beautiful!!

  20. beautiful! I love the popped up dimension and the lace on July!

  21. These calendars are amazing!!! All just gorgouesly done. FAB projects!!! But I think I’m missing out on something — are these in CD cases, or what? Most interesting!!!
