Another wedding and another card made using the invitation.  I love doing this.  It seems to me that the bride will surely like the card if it is made with the very paper and colors that she picked out.. no?  This particular invitation was made with an irresistibly beautiful and shimmery card stock, too, which made it all the more fun.

The invitation was cut to size for the black card base.  A decorative corner punch was used on the two top corners, and a couple of scored lines were made below the image.  Paper was pierced with an Ornare’s piercing tool and template.  The bottom border is punched with Martha Stewart’s “Garden Trellis” Deep Edger Punch.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.  One of my sons (my twin granddaughters’ dad) and his wife that live in Las Vegas went to “Penn and Teller” on Saturday.  Well my son was called up on stage to “help” Penn and Teller with one of their magic tricks.  Now how cool is that!

Happy Crafting!

  1. She’ll ABSOLUTELY love that you used her invitation to make this! I know I would. It’s beautiful!

  2. This is an incredibly thoughtful (and lovely) approach to a wedding card. I ‘think’ I’m going to have to borrow it.

  3. I’m sure the bride and groom will be very touched by the thoughtfulness and beauty of your card! I’ve done something similar with graduation announcements. I had a niece and a nephew graduate last year and used elements from the announcements to make their congrats cards. They loved the cards!

  4. What a beauty Susan!! I love the design and that little pierced detail — very “black tie” looking! 😉

  5. I love that you do that, Susan! So creative, and like you said, at least you know the bride will enjoy it since you’re using the very paper she chose to begin with –hard to go wrong with that logic. Lovin’ that ROCK on her finger, the piercing is especially pretty, and the decorative edge punch is beautiful! Another wonderful creation. tfs

Very cool about your son being chosen to go up on stage and ‘help’ — They didn’t make him disappear or anything like that, did they? 😉

  6. Beautiful Wedding Card made more special by your use of the original invitation and the beautiful touches you added, Susan! (Bet your son and his wife had a ball!)

  7. Beautiful card Susan. Though the post itself is coming through almost entirely in HTML code and characters (on 1/20/10 9pm PST)

    Hugs and blessings – Jean
