Ellen Hutson, LLC is saying goodbye to Cornish Heritage Farms with a HUGE sale.  All CHF inventory is 40% off!  If you’ve been wanting some CHF stamps, NOW is the time to head on over there while supplies last.

My first card today is for this week’s Sketch Challenge #288 over on Splitcoaststampers.  I used CHF’s “The Ranch” to make the scene.

Not sure what this cowboy is doing… rounding up stray sprockets I guess.  But it all seemed kinda guy-ish, so I went for it!  hehe

A few months ago I made my first attempt at submitting to a paper crafts magazine for publication with a couple of cards.  Well neither card was accepted, but I still thought I would share them here on my blog the rejects that they are!  LOL!!

The Lined Paper Backgrounder stamp used on the first card was from Cornish Heritage Farms.  (I went to link it to Ellen’s store and it’s already gone!)

Some of the fish were popped up on foam tape, and all the fish are behind some clear cardstock.

The second card used a CHF scrapblock called “Vintage Text” stamped over the embossed leaves.

This post shows how I made the embossed leaves background.

Hope everyone has a great day.  Thanks for dropping by today.

  1. Well, I LOVE your submission cards! They are totally great!

  2. Susan, all three cards are exceptional! Love the cowboy — wow, what super neat details. Really like this design. Don’t you think it’s sad about CHF closing?

Don’t know which publication you sent your next two cards to, but I can’t believe they weren’t accepted. All I can say is they are winners in my book. I think both are gorgeous. Sometimes, I can’t believe what gets published. And now I really can’t believe what they reject!

  3. Keep submitting Susan, your cards are always exceptional and you never know when one will catch the right person’s eye!! These 3 are gorgeous, and I’m really sad about CHF too. I immediately went to order 2 backgrounders I wanted for ages and they’re already gone! poof!

  4. Susan all three of your cards are gorgeous!!! Love the cowboy and the hardware, the fish card is just WOW and sooooo stinking cute in 3D, and I love the leave embossing on your third card!!! Enjoy your summer…hugs ~S~

I’m with Pat, I can’t believe these weren’t accepted. I love the dimension on the school card, the hanging sign, and the brads all the way around the circle. That last card with the leaves and angled sentiment is absolutel

  7. ….for some reason, the comment went through before I was done typing (guess I bumped something, huh? lol!). anyway….the third card is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Love every detail! 🙂

  8. The sprockets do give it a more of a manly touch. The fish are just way too cute, love the dimension, great idea for the card. The last one is terrific, love the text over the embossing!
