Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall
Friends… for the long haul.

(Inside)

The challenge this week at Our Creative Corner is to “create a card or project using a tree image and a clean  and simple (CAS) style.”  I played along!  Here is the card I made:

Have you ever ruined a card while thinking that you are making it better?  Well I think I ruined this one.  After looking at the above card, I decided that a line would look good drawn under the trees… thought it would “ground” and tie all the trees together.  Ugh.  Well I drew the line.  It’s there now, and I don’t like it.  Sometimes it’s best to just stick with your first instinct.  Glad that I took a few pictures  before the “improvement” was implemented.  lol

Thanks for dropping by today.
Happy Crafting (even if you make a few goofs along the way!)

  2. Susan this is so PRETTY!

  3. Marvelous card, Susan. That winter tree is precious all nakey.

  4. How cute is this! I love the bling!!!

  5. I love the way the seasons are represented on your card, and I love both versions- you definitely didn’t ruin it with the addition of the ground! Thanks for joining us this week at Our Creative Corner!

  6. Ha…I do that a lot. Your first version is beautiful! The second version would be great, if I hadn’t seen your first version. LOL I like that one a lot better.
I LOVE the bling in the trees, the layout and the paper you used.
    Hugs and smiles

  7. It’s divine! I love the little bling in each tree. And honestly, I loved the card the moment I saw it … then read of your unhappiness with the line. Forgeddaboutit, darlin’! Super card!

  8. This is so sweet, Susan. I love the little winter tree totally bereft of leaves but sparkling with a little blue bling!

  9. Oh my, that acting on the second instinct thing has gotten me in trouble so many times! Your trees look lovely and the recipient will think so too. Really like the rhinestone accents.

  10. Well, I love both versions! This is a great card…I so love the rhinestone blossoming tree in season!

  11. Oh wow!! YOUR the featured Flourishes Limelight Designer!! I am so honored you left a comment on my blog for my newest card!! Honestly, I am speechless! I’ve never had that before 🙂

You have Fabulous cards and your Copic coloring is Beautiful! One day I hope to get brave and try Copics, but until then your tutorial on Sunday was extremely helpful for me!! 🙂

  12. I love both versions Susan, I think the line looks good! The card is gorgeous either way and I love the bling in the trees . . . fabulous!

  13. Susan this is so cute, love the jewels on the tree!

  14. You’re too funny…and too critical of your work, me thinks! Both cards are beautiful –love the paper, colors, and all the bling! Great job…on “both” of them. lol Big hugs, Christi

  15. I love the card! The trees are cute but I agree about the line. Next time, try tearing a bit off the adhesive edge of a sticky note and use it as a mask to sponge in a line for the ground. Thanks for joining us at Our Creative Corner! Be sure to visit again soon! Rebecca

  16. Awesome card – really terrific example of CAS. I love those trees and how you have used the gems to accent them. I like the one without the line – has a cleaner look. So happy you joined in the fun with us this week at Our Creative Corner.

  17. I never thought to use gemstones with these tiny trees, but I love the way this turned out! I’m thinkng if you’d drawn curvy lines beneath those trees, you might have been pleased with it, but it looks just fine as is!

  18. I like your card both ways, but I do think the line pulls the trees together and it looks great!

  19. I LOVE this, Susan (both versions)! This is such a clever design — I’ll be CASEing it if you don’t mind! 🙂

  20. I think the line looks good, it will probably grow on you the more you look at it, that happens to me alot 🙂 Love how you did the winter tree too cute!

  21. Oh, this is so pretty. Love the blings on each of the trees
