One of the “fun” things that my oldest son likes to do is attend Burning Man.  He has invited me to come along more than once.  We’ll see.  Maybe some year I’ll call his bluff and actually go!!  LOL

A couple of year’s ago at Burning Man 2009, one of his friends snapped this picture of the Groovix Cube which was a huge interactive 3-player Rubiks Cube.

It was such a hit, in fact, that the Pacific Science Center here in Seattle decided it would be cool to exhibit it.  And who is volunteering her time to help make it happen?  Check out Elise, my son’s girlfriend HERE and HERE.

We’ll be having Elise for a birthday dinner and cake next week.  I couldn’t resist making her a cube themed card for it.

Hope she thinks its fun.  And knowing Elise, I think she’ll appreciate the back of the card as well.

If you are in the Seattle area, this exhibit is open until January 2, 2012.  Fun!

  1. This is a genius idea, and the card will surely be a joy for her to receive! It’s such a personal thing, and perfectly appropriate for her! It takes me back to those days when my son figured out the solution to Rubik’s cube and could solve it within minutes time and time again……while my DH and I sat there stunned! LOL

    • I remember too when my youngest son was enthralled with Rubik’s cubes and how fast he could solve it. He actually got to solving any and all of the challenges in less than 1 min. every single time….I know because I timed him and tracked it lol! Now isn’t just like a mom 🙂 I just might case this card for his birthday…

  2. Love the card you made – perfect for her. Hate those Rubik’s cubes – have never been able to figure out how to solve them LOL! I’ll leave it to the pros I think LOL!

  3. Hi Susan, What a clever, fun and perfect card for your son’s girlfriend. She is going to love it!
