The last couple of months have been challenging around here!  We are getting our house ready to sell and are in the process of “decluttering”.  Part of that involves moving my crafts to a little teeny tiny cabin for a few months.  Since most of my crafting goodies will not fit in the small space I have there,  a lot of my supplies are boxed up for long term storage.  Some of the stuff is already at the cabin and some still remains here in my craft room.  But I loved this FTL Sketch so much and the other two CAS challenges looked like fun.  So I stole away for a bit and created this card.

The challenges are:

The Clean & Simple Stamping FTL229 sketch challenge.

Less is More Week 108 Challenge to do some paper piercing on your creation.

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC91 to add silver to your CAS project.

I have been so occupied with the house that I hadn’t checked the mailbox in almost two weeks.  I’m so glad I finally did.  Look what treasure was waiting there from my granddaughter, Kate!

It’s really a darling design with the heart slightly angled.  She even stamped on the inside.. a totally “pro” thing to do!

She’s already old enough to sign her name!?!  How is that possible?

Okay.. I’m back to the packing grind.  Those boxes won’t fill themselves!

Happy Crafting!

And Kate’s card is so perfectly sweet, and I’m sure you’ll treasure it for years to come 🙂

And what a wonderful, heartfelt card from your grandaughter! She is so good! And so talented! Just like you Susan!

  7. Oh my…moving is exciting and would be fun if it weren’t for the packing part. Kate’s card is darling and reminds me of the first card I got from our granddaughter. A treasure!

    Your card is beautiful too!

  8. You’re moving? I must have missed something. Well, best of luck to you in your new home. Staying in a little cabin sounds cozy, but I know it can get cramped after a while. Lovely card you created with limited supplies. It’s a beautiful image and I love the shaded background. And what a sweet treasure from Kate. She made that with her own loving little hands. A true keepsake.

  9. Beautiful CAS design. Love the paper piercing and sponged background.
Love the treasure you received from your granddaughter — it’s a beauty!
Good luck with the packing! I don’t envy you!!

We downsized 10 years ago (before I ever started card making), and the thought of packing gives me a case of nerves.

  11. Good luck on selling your house, they say it is getting better.
Love what you came up with for the sketch, like the pretty color behind your birds, and neat idea with the piercing.
What a sweet card to get in the mail, you have made someone else into a cardmaker I see!

  12. I love the birds on the music staff; what a sweet image, especially the way you have used it with the sponging behind. Very cute card from your grand daughter too.

  13. Haven’t had time to do my blog checks for a while, but I just took a look through all those that I’ve missed recently. Some great things youve been posting! Love this newest challenge card. That bit of piercing really adds a lot to the card, doesn’t it?!?!

Sounds like you are going to be busy for a while…getting a house ready for a sale is is a daunting task!!!! I’m glad you still can squeeze a little time out for crafting!!!
