So is this bird cute or what!

The grass was added and the little bird was colored with Copics.  A black Copic was also used to color the edges of the image circle and sentiment strip.

The miniature doily was made using a Spellbinder’s die and cutting it from a larger doily.  LOVE how it turned out!

Here is the card with some pearls added across the top of the patterned paper.  Too much?  Do they distract from the cute little image or just add to all the fun dots and circles that abound?  What do you think?

  1. Very cute card! Love how you did the doily and I don’t think those little pearls at the top are too much at all, I love them there. Very nice. TFS!

  2. Yes indeed, that certainly is a cute little bird, and I love the doily trick layered in black! I prefer the line of pearls over the plain version, but they both work!!

  3. What an awesome CAS creation. Love the doily treatment and neat touches you added to your design.

  4. That little bird is too cute! Love how you colored him and added the grass, and the black around the edges makes the image circle look more dimensional. Nice touch! Can you believe I can’t decide whether I like it better with or without the pearls? I think it looks great either way!

  5. Super cute card! The pearls are the perfect touch!

  6. Super cute birdie and love that die cut doily idea. Thanks for playing at CC&S.

  7. too cute, great job on the grass and coloring, love how the outlining with the black pen just gives it that right touch, very cool cutting out the doily with your die, gives it great texture. I myself love the bling across the top, but I like balance too and I think it works great!!

  8. The bird is darling, and I really like the texture of the die-cut doily! The pearls do give the sketch a little extra pizazz. Thanks so much for sharing your card with us at CAS Colours & Sketches! I hope you’ll join us again soon for another challenge. 🙂

  9. hello Susan! this is adorable, cute design and a great idea cutting the doily…FAB! so glad you played along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

    sparkle & shine *~*

  10. Thanks for joining us at CC&S this week Susan. I prefer the card without the pearls across the top but then I am a CAS kinda girl! Stef x

  11. Fabulous card, Susan! Love how you cut the doily!
