The two cards today are playing along in seven challenges!  Seriously!  It’s the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers (SCS).

Recently my cards have been leaning more to the clean and simple designs.  But with this card I feel like I’ve gone back to my roots.  I used to doll up a card with distressing and lots of ink and textures and different elements to add dimension.  Yay… this was a lot of fun!

I got my hands a little inky with the repeat stamping of the doily image and the sponging and distressing on this card.  The cute little floral center was die cut and rolled.  An adhesive flat back pearl was added to complete the bloom.

This card is also entering a few blogland challenges:

Papertake Weekly: “Anything Goes – Optional Extra: Torn Edges”

Addicted to Stamps Challenge #156:  “Anything Goes”

Seize the Birthday:  “Anything Goes”

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C297:  “Use the Word ‘HAPPY'”

The second card is a clean and simple style.

A die cut was used to dry emboss (rather than cut out) the gears on the card base.

There is still time to join in the fun over on SCS.  Hope to see you there!

Happy Crafting!
