I’ve had several stars cut with this fun dangled stars die.  Finally used them!

Love this sentiment, and it seemed so perfect for this starry night card.

The large rhinestone star sticker was adhered to a paper die cut star before popping it up on the card.  The sentiment is also popped up on dimensionals.

Used some Copics to color up this great image.

The fabulous plaid patterned paper helped give the card a masculine feel which was wanted since it will be for hubby’s birthday.

The inside sentiment was printed from my computer.  Thought it was super cute.

I have had this image for some time and was so happy to color it and create this happy fall card.

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

I love this time of year.. now, but it hasn’t always been this way.  When I had my four rambunctious little boys that loved playing outside, fall was a sad time for me.  It meant all that energy was going to be confined inside!  We lived in a Chicago suburb and had a large unfinished basement.  So my hubby screwed swings into the joists and we laid down gym mats on the floor.  We would bring in their hotwheels and let them ride circles around the central staircase.  It helped, but was still no substitute for the great outdoors.

But now all four are grown and married and have lots of little rugrat rambunctious-ness of their own to deal with!  And my feelings of the season have changed, too!

Used several of my favorite elements like a button and linen thread and a doily and scalloped circle and of course my Copics. Popped up some of the layers just for fun.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted!  With the new format here in WordPress and me being extremely non-techy,  well let’s just say its been hard for this old dog to learn any new tricks!  (Took me so long just to figure out how to upload a photo.)  But let’s give it a try.

This is a silly card for that friend in your life who has celebrated several 49th birthdays.  I have a few of those dear friends myself!!

This second card is just a quick and easy somewhat masculine card.

The word squares are popped up to give it a little interest and dimension.

Here is a birthday card for my 12 year old granddaughter.  She loves cats, and she loves to read.

Her favorite books right now are the “Warriors” series written by Erin Hunter.  She loves them so much that I decided I would read them, too, so that we could talk about all the adventures of the many cats that the books are about.  Okay.  I didn’t realize that there were nearly 100 books (so far!).  My granddaughter has every one of them!  She reads them as quickly as they are released.  I am starting the 3rd or 4th series.  We have so much fun talking about all the quests and life’s lessons that the books present.

The card is a fancy fold card box.  My card is a total CASE of the one found HERE on the tutorial for the design.

The card closes to a standard 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ size perfect for mailing.

A sentiment was placed on the black card stock band which keeps the card closed until easily removed.

On a totally random note:

I love my Stamparatus, but the magnets are so strong that it can get really hard to pick them up and place them.  I saw this idea somewhere (wish I knew where now so that I could give credit).

Just wrap the magnets in some fun designer paper, and it makes a great flap.  It allows for a much easier and controlled pick up and placement of the magnet.  AND..  you get to have these super cute designer paper covered magnets.  Seriously, what could be better!

It’s time to start making those wonderfully fun and floral cards for all the special mothers in our lives.

For this card I let the patterned paper do most of the work!  Love these yellow and black blooms.  A Copic  was used to color the primas on the stamped flowers.  Pearls dot the centers.  All the stamped images are popped up on foam tape including the black stamped frame and sentiment strip.  What fun!

Here is a quick and easy gift card holder design.  I’ve made these for Christmas giving, but a birthday or other occasion sentiment could just as easily be stamped and different patterned papers used.

Speaking of stamping, one of my most favorite stamping tools is my Stamparatus.  The sentiment on all of these cards had to be positioned only one time.  I could then stamp all the cards so fast and so easily with perfectly aligned/straight sentiments.  I’m not a Stampin’ Up demonstrator any more, but I still recommend this tool.  Love it!

A metal tab holds the card closed.  To open the card, just turn the tab.

Here’s a template if you want to give it try.

Oh and if you do decide to make this card holder design, be sure to attached the brad and tab before taping the sides of the card holder pocket.  (Believe me as I speak from experience, it’s much harder to put on the brad after the sides have been taped!)

Every once in awhile I just have to make a card with lots of layers and lots of patterned paper.  Today was such a day!

The butterfly and the popped up layers add some dimension.

It’s hard to see in the above pictures, but the black layer was embossed for even more texture.

So many layers + So much patterned paper = So much fun!!

Patterned paper can make me so happy!  I remember when designer papers first started to be a real thing in the card making world.  I was so intimidated by them.  But now?  Oh my, I LOVE them!

This card was so FAST!  Picked a cheery and bright patterned paper and a fun border punch to backdrop the stamped image.  Placed a prima and VOILA!
