Today is fellow blogging friend, Christi Milliken’s birthday.  smileybdaycake1ani.gif

blog228cardcloseupwithwm.jpg

When her mom contacted me to see if I wanted to participate in a fun blog hop for Christi, my answer was a resounding, “Yes!”

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Christi!!  May you have many many many more.

blog228cardjarwithwm.jpg

The jar of 50 primas was made from a baby food jar.  The lid was painted with acrylic paint and a gingham ribbon was attached.  The sentiment and circular floral border are from JustRite’s “Big Occasions Centers & Borders” set.  It is attached with dimensionals.

Your next hop along the way, Christi, is over on Jeanette Fincher’s blog.

Have fun, Birthday Girl!smileybdaycandleani.gif

Yup I’m still over in the CLASSroom having fun with Ellen’s “12 Days of Christmas”.  The project below was for Day 8 of the celebration, but because of some blog issues I wasn’t able to upload any pictures until now.

blog224lockhartjarwithwm.jpg

However, you still have until Thursday, January 7th to comment on all of the goodies up for grabs.  So if you haven’t been over there… well you really should make the trip!

smileygirlhappydanceani.gifSee you there!!!

November                 December

—————————————————————————————————————

Well December’s calendars have been made and hand delivered on Thanksgiving Day to all 4 of my sisters.  It has been quite a project that was most wonderful in that I would be thinking about my sisters as I was making the calendars.

blog220thejensengirlss.jpg

(Note to Self:  Need to get a new photo taken of all 5 of us together.  This was the most recent photo I could find, and it is 7 years old.  Definitely need a new photo.)

smileyhuggroup1ani.gifThere are lots of memories.  How about growing up with 5 girls (6 including mom) under 1 roof and only 1 bathroom… 1 sink and no separate shower, just a tub… for the whole family!!  Lots of clothes sharing and hand-me-downs, too.  And yet, we felt rich.  I remember Dad would get up so early to use the bathroom and then turn it over to us girls!  Not sure when my 1 and only brother got his turn in there!  He was the oldest and left home to join the Navy when I was only 8.

blog220family1955.jpg

Those were simpler times with simpler dreams.  Or maybe it was just that I was the kid and not the adult!  lol  In any case this project was one that I’m really happy I did.

Thanks for dropping by today.

Happy Crafting!! smileyhuggroup1ani.gif

Yup, I’ve been playing in the CLASSroom and having so much fun!  Come on over and check it out!

It’s summertime in Seattle. cliphappydaytinyani.gif We have had record high temperatures into the 100’s!  Lake Sammamish is 82 degrees.  Whew, we Pacific Northwesterners aren’t use to this heat!  My DH and I have been riding our bikes every day.  There are miles and miles and miles of bike trails in and around Seattle.  Today we did a *little* 26+ mile trip (the farthest I ever ridden a bike at one time) and then finished it off with a dip in the lake and a bbq.  Life is good!

Consequently I haven’t been playing much in my stamp room.  It is upstairs over the garage, and our air conditioner was broken.  (It’s so rare that we need a/c..  so who knew?) The one thing I did do was the August calendars for my sisters.  Here are all 3 summer months of June, July and August with recipes below.

blog168ic176inspirationpiece.jpgToday over at Splitcoaststampers the Inspiration Challenge is an on-line store called Skeem where you can find beautiful candles and perfumes.  The  inspiration for my project came from the candle pictured here on the left.  It reminded me of a piece of double sided designer paper that I purchased several months ago.  I had not yet done anything with the 12″ X 12″ piece, so I decided to do a One Sheet Wonder (OSW) with the entire sheet.  I’m such a paper hoarder which means that doing a project that would use up ALL of the paper was a big deal for me!  lol

Here is the finished project.  The set consists of 6 cards and my favorite little box (template by Leslie Miller) in which to put them all.

blog168ic176groupsmallwithwm.JPG

Below each card is pictured individually.

blog168ic176cardweddingwithwm.JPG

On this first card I did a little stitching in the lower right hand corner.

blog168ic176cardbd2withwm.JPGblog168ic176cardthankswithwm.JPG

And the box with an elastic band to hold it all together…

blog168ic176boxwithwm.JPG

I had so much FUN!!  And I don’t seem to be suffering any negative effects from using that entire piece of designer paper!  Oh and for anyone interested, here is the template I created for the OSW.

Happy Stamping!

Probably my biggest addiction, even more than collecting actual stamps, is designer paper. PAPER!!! I love it!! But I find that I don’t use it because then it would be gone. D’oh. So I have begun to quarter my 12″X12″ sheets. This way I have FOUR… YES FOUR pieces of paper. I can let my little hoarding self use one or two of these pieces and still have some left!! Woohoo!! Well it works for me. LOL!!

blog158cardscloseupwithwm.JPG

So that is where I started today, with a quartered piece of 12″X12″ designer paper.  To make sure that there was absolutely no waste of my precious paper, I created another 6″X6″ One Sheet Wonder (OSW) template.  I just love making these.  They also work, of course, for all of the 6″X6″ pads of designer paper available now.  And I created a sketch (which I almost followed!  lol) that can be used with the pieces from the OSW that will make into four cards.  Here’s the template for the OSW.

blog1586x6onesheetwonder1forsetof4withwm.jpg

I needed a couple of masculine birthday cards and a couple of wedding cards.  Since this was a double sided patterned paper, it worked out perfectly with the stripes on one side and the blue toile like floral on the other!  Plus my 10 Designer Centers & Borders from JustRite had everything I needed for sentiments all in one set!

blog158pieceswithwm.jpg

Here is the sketch.

blog1586x6onesheetwonder1sketchwithwm.jpg

If you decide to give this OSW/Sketch design a try, please let me know.  It would be so much fun to see what you have created!

1blog160calendarcloseupwithwm.JPG

Yes it is half way through the month.  Fortunately I am only late posting my sisters’ March calendars and not late sending them.  I was able to finish and mail them before I went to visit my sick little granddaughter, Katelyn, at the end of last month.  She is now feeling ever so much better.  Yay!!  I can’t believe I went for over two weeks without blogging!!  Well time flies when there are darling little girls to visit and hold.  My twin granddaughters live in the same city, too, so it was a truly joyful trip!  And since I shared a picture of the twins yesterday, I mustn’t show favorites, right?  lol  Here is sweet little Katelyn.

blog158katelyn.JPG

What girl doesn’t love having her hair done!  Isn’t she precious!!  Okay… back to the calendars.

blog160calendarswithwm.JPG

I inked the rubber directly with my SU! Always Artichoke marker and then stamped each image.  The images were then colored with Copic markers and outlined with a Stardust Glitter Pen.

blog160copics.JPG

Kaiser flatback pearls from Flourishes were added to the corners.  The calendar is a download from A Muse.  Now it’s almost time to get busy making April’s calendars!! Happy rest of March!
