Getting an early start on Mother’s Day creations.

I altered the standard card base by decreasing the width of the front panel.  This makes the blue polk-a-dot patterned paper on the inside of the card visible when the card is closed.

Added a little space inside for a handwritten note, too.

Got some happy mail yesterday with a new die set which includes a wreath, a branch of leaves and a bow.  Couldn’t wait to use it!  All the glitter was inspired by several challenges this week that wanted sparkle and hearts and love.  This is what I came up with.. using my new dies, of course!

The dark pink branch and bow dies were cut out using white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.

I rarely use all the beautiful Stickles that I have.  But on this card I may have used more of it than all the other cards I have ever made combined!

Recently I received this new paint/can die and have been excited to try it out.  There were a lot of challenges this week to craft using something new.  It was the perfect motivation I needed to give it a try even though I ended up entering only one of those challenges! 

The colors have been sponged all over the cutout piece except for the paint can itself.  That was left white.  A brick pattern stencil was used on the lower portion of the piece as well.

Having seen several tutorials for this “magical” fancy fold card, I have wanted to give it a try for some time.  Well a grandson’s birthday was the perfect motivation to make it happen.

The card’s front looks like any other card.

Here’s a birthday card for another granddaughter.  She LOVES purple.

I just love this magical butterfly with its gilded wire, rhinestones, beads and glitter!

Stamping and distressing were carried on inside the card as well.

And, yes, my fingers were a mess after this!  lol

September is birthday month for my twin granddaughters.  I love making their birthday cards.. the same but different.  The difference is all about the color.  I have a turquoise/teal girl and an all out lover of everything pink girl.  So their cards, although the same design, reflect their personal color favorites.

The flowers were made with daisy punches.  The leaves are die cut.

I usually forget to add some fun to the envelopes.  But, I actually remembered this time!

These rubber band butterflies are wound up tight and placed inside the card.  When the card is opened, the butterfly comes fluttering out.  Just a little added surprise for some fun.

Today’s card is yet another creation that works for everyone including the guys.  It was super quick and easy to make, too!

The die cut leaf has been distressed/sponged around the edges.  It is popped up on foam tape and placed on a small embossed square of card stock which matches the card base.

A little bit of texture..  A little bit of dimension..  Love it!

This card can be used as a sympathy card or as an apology card when goof-ups happen.

As autumn approaches, I love that the warm oranges and yellows along with the deep greens can once again be used to match the season.  A black metallic heart clip finishes off the design.
