I thought this designer paper was a great match for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.

So many of my favorite things come together on this card.. roses, pearls, embossing, fun punches and the oh so lovely pastels.

Sometimes you just have to indulge with all the frilly pretty stuff!

This card is for one of my sisters whose birthday is coming up this week.

After the white card base was stamped, the black and red trimmed “frame” was adhered to it with dimensionals.  This gives some interesting depth to the design.

The card fits into the three challenges.  Check them out:

My card today was made for a couple of very fun challenges.

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a card using flowers and chevrons.  Over at the Case Study Challenge Blog their challenge is to be inspired by this design:

Love these graceful and sweet flowers from CAS-ual Fridays “Truth Is” set.  They are colored with Copics.  A fine tipped brown marker was used to draw a line around the edge of the flower/sentiment panel.

We are finally moved and settled at our cabin.  That means I will be able to find some time to play in more challenges again!  Yeah!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Happy Crafting!

Each month Splitcoaststampers hosts a Christmas Card Challenge in the Fan Club Forum.  I decided to play along for the month of March.  Hopefully this will get me going again with some creations for this year’s cards.

It is so nice to have a collection of Christmas cards all ready to go once the holiday season arrives.

Card 1:

Stickles was added to all of the flowers’ centers for some sparkle.

Card 2:

Here’s some faux stitching just for fun.

Card 3:

If you are a member of the Fan Club over at Splitcoaststampers, come join the fun and get those Christmas cards started!

Feb 262013

The last couple of months have been challenging around here!  We are getting our house ready to sell and are in the process of “decluttering”.  Part of that involves moving my crafts to a little teeny tiny cabin for a few months.  Since most of my crafting goodies will not fit in the small space I have there,  a lot of my supplies are boxed up for long term storage.  Some of the stuff is already at the cabin and some still remains here in my craft room.  But I loved this FTL Sketch so much and the other two CAS challenges looked like fun.  So I stole away for a bit and created this card.

The challenges are:

The Clean & Simple Stamping FTL229 sketch challenge.

Less is More Week 108 Challenge to do some paper piercing on your creation.

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC91 to add silver to your CAS project.

I have been so occupied with the house that I hadn’t checked the mailbox in almost two weeks.  I’m so glad I finally did.  Look what treasure was waiting there from my granddaughter, Kate!

It’s really a darling design with the heart slightly angled.  She even stamped on the inside.. a totally “pro” thing to do!

She’s already old enough to sign her name!?!  How is that possible?

Okay.. I’m back to the packing grind.  Those boxes won’t fill themselves!

Happy Crafting!

Stamps: Impression Obsession “Birds on Music”; Savvy Stamps “Birthday Wishes”

Papers: PTI Select White

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; SU Lavender Lace and Almost Amethyst; Copic Multiliner Fine 0.1 Marker

Accessories: Silver Cord; Paper Piercer; Eclipse Masking Tape; Long Classic Rectangle Nestabilities Die

Just a quick post to share the Valentine I made for my DH.

Not a complicated design.  The heart was die cut from a piece of designer paper with the glitter already attached, and the ribbon was preprinted with the sentiment.

A box of chocolate covered strawberries from my sweetie was delivered to my door last evening.  I wish that I had taken a picture of them before they were devoured, but when I saw them… well, I wasn’t thinking clearly!  (But at least I shared!  lol)

Happy Crafting and Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
